30 minute intake visit to discuss the client’s personal needs and assess the space
3-6 hours of in person organizing sessions of 1-2 rooms using containers you already have or minimal new products
Small donations removal

Best for clients who may be overwhelmed, have “too much stuff," or “not enough space!"

Includes:

30 minute intake visit to discuss the client’s personal needs and assess the space
6-12 hours of in-person organizing session of 1-3 rooms

Is your winter gear everywhere? Organizing winter gear is not a one size fits all-- I had the kids snow gear hanging in our sunroom but it is way too cold to keep it out there right now in WI so I decided to utilize the @target cart we have with some @brightroombytarget hooks--each kid has a "contained shelf" with their hats, gloves, boots, and the pants and jackets can hang on the side. I can now keep it by the back door for stuff to dry and wheel it into the coat closet to get it out of way! Here's to keeping it together this winter 🤪❄️

Don't try to declutter and organize everything before Christmas! Focus on decluttering the three things below:

1. Christmas decorations you are not using-- Don't wait till after Christmas, many donation centers will not take Christmas decorations after Christmas (yes, this happened to me)

2. Toys-- list on Facebook marketplace or donate for people to use for Christmas gifts.

3. Winter gear/clothes-- If it doesn't fit, give it away, don't wait till spring because somebody could use it now.

Being organized is NOT about having the beautiful containers (I wish!), it IS about knowing where everything is and having everything arranged according to a particular system. In fact, most people are "organized" in one way or another even though sometimes the system is that there is no system.

From my experiences as an operations professional and organizer--a organized system that is both functional and efficient enables someone to focus on their highest valued goals.

Why function and efficiency?

Function is the natural purpose of something--for example, the bedroom closet (typically) is meant to hold the clothes that you wear so if it's organized in such a fashion that makes it hard to put on clothes everyday, the system may not be functional and could use an update.

Efficiency is being able to achieve an end goal (ie. Cooking food and putting on clothes) without wasted time, effort, or energy.

But--what about the pretty containers? Absolutely! I mean yes... depending. Organization includes stuff and ideally it should coordinate beautifully with the space it is in so that your house or business brings you whatever feelings you're trying to spark-- And hopefully the feelings you're trying to spark connect to your values and priorities that you would like to focus on by being organized.

Before new toys arrive, make space! Some of the most organized spaces are Pre-K classrooms, take notes:

- designate zones for specific types of toys (ie. Costumes, kitchen, Legos, books)
- If a toy doesn't fit in a zone, either donate or put in toy rotation

What if the way you are thinking about organizing is keeping your house a mess?

Not everyone should be using wicker baskets 🧺(you might forget where everything is) and not everyone should be using clear containers 🫙 (this might be overstimulating for you)--the key is to pick systems that work with the way you think.

Since I learned to read (idk age 5?) I've read about 1,000,000 books (jk but somewhere [nowhere] around there). So you could say I'm pretty obsessed with books, I even worked at a book publishing company for five years in operations!
My true jam is fiction (thanks @reesewitherspoon book club) but I've read at least a closet full of self-help, business, and guidebooks-- I read my first organizing book at age 10 and then I promptly organized my closet. I hope you find some of these inspirational! Comment with your favorites ✨

A friend of mine is hosting a toy swap (such a great idea!) I thought oh I have a couple of things, so I grabbed a box set a timer for 20 minutes and went through the toy room, sure enough, that box is full!

1. Look at all your Christmas wish lists
2. Take a deep breath and pick one space in your home
3. Grab a box
4. Set a timer for 20 minutes and fill that box from the one space
